EXCELLENT Based on 22 reviews Graham Dickinson2024-09-16Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My son Oliver and I have just returned from a 3 day break on Blossom (02.09.2024) and I would like to say what a brilliant time we have had. The service and prior information received from Kim was excellent with plenty of material on the narrowboat and etiquette whilst on the canal. On arrival at the marina, we were met by a very friendly Kim who took us aboard where there was a welcome pack, including milk, biscuits and 5lts of fresh water for drinking, crisps and some fresh flowers, which was a lovely touch. Kim explained the use of everything inside the boat, after which her dad Garry explained the operation of the boats controls, then took us out onto the canal and I took over whilst under his tuition. We purposely got the boat stuck in shallow water so he could show us how to free it. We later went through the process of mooring it and how to tie secure knots. When we felt comfortable with handling Blossom, Garry left us with the instruction to ring Kim if we needed any further advice. Nothing was a trouble. Our fun and relaxing holiday then began, with me feeling a little nervous but soon became more confident in handling this lovely craft. Did we get ourselves into some predicaments? Yes we did. Did we get out of them all? Yes we did, and it was all part of the fun and we had a good laugh about them. Blossom is so well appointed with everything you could possibly need, from towels and bedding to salt and pepper, washing up liquid, tea and coffee to books, cards and games. There is a double bed which Oliver slept in and said was very comfortable. I slept on a folding bed which had a mattress topper and found it surprisingly comfortable. If you are reading this you must be considering a holiday on a narrowboat. I can thoroughly recommend hiring Blossom from its lovely owners. Superb 40ft narrowboat. Ideal for 2 people. Very well presented. Nice to handle. Nothing too much trouble for the owners. Just had a week single handed. She handles very well. Inside is cottage styled, with a loverly log fire and everything you need. Fully fitted out with full-size cooker and fridge. TV. Hairdryer, linen & towels. Super boat. Super Owners. Makes for a super holiday. And our furry pets can go free. What's not to like. Lindsey Watson2024-05-27Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely amazing 3 days. After being seriously apprehensive Kim and her Dad Gary put us at ease pretty quickly. Expert tuition, we didn’t want to go home we are hooked 🤣 A lovely little family business we wish you all the best Lindsey & Chris x Nic Owen2024-04-15Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Blissful short break on Blossom in July 2023. She was my first narrowboat experience so I was a bit nervous but Kim and Garry were incredibly patient and supportive. My little holiday went beautifully and I am so excited to book again. Everything was fabulous but special mention for the bed, it was more comfortable than mine at home. The Lancaster is a spectacular canal to learn on, a true hidden gem. Still can hardly believe I steered Blossom over the Lune Aqueduct. Twice! Colin Simpson2023-05-22Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a great relaxing midweek break and enjoyed every minute. Kim and Gary, and the rest of the family, did everything possible to make our trip memorable. Had rebooked due to any engine problem last year, and really pleased we did. A great experience and fully recommend trying. No lock and only one bridge to operate, you just cruise and admire the scenery and wildlife William Palin2023-05-16Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just spent the most relaxing week on board Blossom. Travelled from Tewitfield to Garstang and back at a leisurely 3mph taking in the sunshine. Blossom has everything you need on board to make life easy. We hardly saw any other boats until south of Lancaster and even then the canal was nice and quiet. Plenty of good pubs on route for food and drinks. So if your an experienced boater or not go ahead and book some time aboard. Julian Clarkson2023-04-03Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Although it is March and the weather is not great it was good to get away for 4nights cruising in Blossom. Garry and Kim showed us the ropes and took us out for a lesson in piloting Blossom which was a great help. It is lovely cruising the Lancashire canal, we spent a day at Lancaster which was a surprise such a nice place well worth a visit. Great experience going on Blossom, 😁 would take a memory stick/ hdmi lead for nights when you just want to sit inside or weather is naf. Well worth a go this boating malarkey. Enjoy 😊😊 Rob Fulton2022-08-28Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Blossom is an absolute gem of a boat on a really pretty canal with the added bonus of it being quiet compared to other canals. Kim and Gary are a wonderful team who are there to support and help whenever you need them. The boat is well equipped with everything you could need for a lovely relaxing holiday. This is our second holiday on Blossom and we will be coming back again. Thank you so much for such a fabulous holiday 😊 Ann Clark2022-08-26Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
